Myth Agent WIns Reader’s Favorite Bronze Award

Time travel is…the main appeal of Myth Agent. The classic concept is deftly developed into a fresh story premise. The plot has a steady pace…readers get to know the protagonists and their backstory. The characters are well fleshed out with considerable depth of their disposition and emotions. The narrative is clear and engaging…no heavy technical jargon used to deliver the core concept of the tale. …a commendable story from MacFadden…”

About Laurie Adair Grove, AKA L.A. MacFadden

I was born Laurie Adair MacFadden in Madras, Oregon to an artist mother and a father whose job had us moving from town to town in Oregon, Washington, and Montana. My last years living at home with my parents and siblings were in Great Falls, Montana. We’d all been stunned at our first extremely harsh winter in Great Falls, and I didn’t think I could learn to love that place out on the prairie, but it grew on me. I miss it and other parts of the state still, even after many years away, so my first three books are set primarily in Montana. It’s a way for me to be there without really being there!

In 1974 I graduated from Great Falls High School, and the following year I married my high school sweetheart, George, who had joined the USMC. Being a Marine’s wife showed me a kind of life I had never imagined. We met all kinds of people, fell in love with Japan, and, as far as I’m concerned, I learned that summers in Yuma, Arizona are way too hot, and the winters ideal!  (Read more about the author)

MacFadden Meanderings

I’m big on family, from my husband, children and grandchildren to my spread-out family of four siblings, sister and brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews! I’m a Leo and share a lot of Leo traits, like protective, optimistic and loyal, But I missed the boat on some of them, too. I enjoy being at my desk working, with just my good old dog by my side! By the way, I have to have kids and dogs in my life! I can’t do without them!

George and I are “car people”—we’ve both loved classic cars since we met! My first love was a ’68 Jaguar XKE. A fellow Marine in a squadron George was in owned one and let George drive it now and then—and I was thrilled to go along! But as time passed, business (Precision Hydraulics in Portland, Oregon) has grown, and we now have a beautiful classic car the way it was meant to be enjoyed—with us inside it! It’s a ’55 T-Bird—just a year older than I am!

My love of old things doesn’t end with cars. I love learning about history, and I appreciate beautiful old glassware, furniture, and interesting old paper ephemera, including very old newspapers. George and I go to big antique shows as well as junk stores—some of our best treasures were once someone else’s trash!
